Paper Plate Crabs Craft

Here is a cute little project for the little ones. Paper Plate Crabs. Fun for the kids and great for beach themed decorations.

You will need:
  • Paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Eye stickers
  • Glue
  • Red construction paper
  • Red paint
  • Paint brush or sponge
  • Black marker

1.  Cut the center of the paper plate out then cut it in half.  You'll only need half a circle (picture above).

2.  Paint the plate red.

3.  Let it dry.

4.  While the paint is drying, cut out two small squares from the red construction paper (approx 1.5 in x 1.5 in).  Stick an eye near the top of each of the squares.

5.  Carefully cut the eyes out starting from the top BUT DO NOT CUT ALL THE WAY AROUND. When you reach near the bottom of the eye, cut a long rectangular shape to create the eye stalks.

6.  Cut out 2 claws from the construction paper. Cut out a shape that look like spoons with fat handles. At the top of the spoon shape, cut out a "V" to make the claws.

7.  When the paint on the paper plate has dried, draw a mouth with a black marker.

8.  Glue the eyes and claws onto the back of the plate.

9.  Let it dry and WA-LAH!

  2. This is cute and easy. Need to monitor the paint use here, but otherwise sounds fun.
